About Dr. Hayley S. Thomas
The Dr. Hayley S. Thomas Senior Diversity Prize honors those graduating seniors who personify the characteristics that Dean Thomas exemplified: (1) lifelong learning around DEIA; (2) demonstrated commitment to/advocacy for inclusion; and (3) ability to inspire others to action.
The deadline to submit nominations is May 2, 2025, at 12 p.m.
Dr. Thomas joined the Bryn Mawr community as an Assistant Dean and later became the Acting Director of the College's Office of Institutional Diversity. During her time here, she became an invaluable resource through her facilitation of mentoring programs, direction of diversity seminars, and – most importantly – her tireless dedication to supporting Bryn Mawr students.
Sadly, the Bryn Mawr community lost Dean Thomas to cancer in March of 2004. The Senior Diversity Prize was named in her honor and the first prizes were awarded in 2005.
