Telescope Training at the Strawbridge Observatory

Hello everyone! Itâs your friendly neighborhood Strawbridge Public Observing Team here. We run open-house events at Haverfordâs Observatory and would like to invite you all to our events this semester. This Saturday, come to our semesterly telescope training night! From 7 to 9:00 p.m. on September 20th we will be opening up the 12â, and breaking out the 8â telescopes for anyone interested in being trained on their use. No prior experience is required, we just ask that you come ready to play (responsibly) with some fun, expensive equipment and see some really cool things.
To get to the observatory, turn right as you exit the bus, going back down the road towards the soccer field until you see our Observatory, the building with two big domes. We recommend taking the 6:30 p.m. blue bus, as coming late risks missing out on the fun. Love astronomy, but donât want to fiddle with telescopes?
Weâll also have a series of public open-house nights at the Observatory this semester, you can find out more at the link below! We host telescope viewings, run activities and science demos, and share talks on the science behind our universe.
Best, The Strawbridge Public Observing Team
