The Facilities Services team manages a variety of projects across the College.
July 2025 Updates
Project Updates as of July 30, 2025
Description: This room is being updated for instruction including minor demolitions and new finishes.
Status: The project began in July and be completed for the first week of August. Existing furniture will be re-installed until new furniture arrives.
Impacts: None.
Description: A new Chemistry lab will be constructed in Park 276C.
Status: The project is in the bid process
Impact: None at this time.
Description: A new Computer Science research lab is being construction in rooms 259 and 260.
Status: The project is under construction and will be completed in July..
Impacts: Rooms 259 and 260 will be off-line and there will be some noise and construction activity in the vicinity of the project.
Fire Alarm Testing
Description: Fire Alarms will be tested by an outside testing agency across the campus.
Status: Testing has already started and will be completed in July.
Impacts: Testing personnel will enter all spaces with detecting equipment and confirm proper detection. All audible testing will be coordinated with building occupancies to minimize disruption
Description: We will construct a scaffolding on the west side (the valley side) of Goodhart Hall to inspect and caulk the roof and base of the Spire.
Status: The project started in July and be completed in August.
Impacts: Impacts will be minimal.
Description: Replace the current switch with a code compliant switch and repaceing the oldest underground cable on campus. This will improve reliability and will minimize the impact of future maintenance and construction by allowing for the isolation of segments of the loop.
Status: The equipment has been ordered and site work began in July.
Impacts: The work will take place on both side of the path between Guild and Pembroke Hall East. There will be some construction noise and the path will close intermittently on some days. Details will be communicated as the project progresses.
Description: The front entry path to New Dorm will be repaired.
Status: Work will take place on August 5th.
Impacts: The effected walkways will be marked and closed. Building access will be retained via the front stairs of the building.
Description: The College will be restoring the historic exterior door set facing Goodhart Hall leading onto the Rhys Carpenter roof.
Status: The installation of a temporary door will begin July 31st. Work will continue on and off over during the month of August to prepare the opeing for the arrival of the restored door in Mid-September.
Impact: There will be minimal if any impact.
Description: We continue the phased renovation of Park Science that now includes renovations to the Collier Library and select areas of the Biology Wing.
Status: The areas now under construction, including the Biology Wing and the Collier Library, which are now isolated. The Collier Library contractor work is completed and are turning the space over for technology installation. Overall construction will be completed by the fall semester 2025.
Impact: There will be some intermittent noise. We are working with those affected to manage the impacts. The Biology stairwell facing the lower courtyard is closed for the summer. The south portion of the Chemistry wing, including the Collier Library, will not have ventilation between August 4 and August 22 when the HVAC work will be completed.
Description: Install new fire alarm systems in Rockefeller Hall and Brecon Hall
Status: These projects are currently under construction
Impacts: Both Buildings will be off-line until August 14.
Description: New finishes and shelving fit out to accommodate student club storage.
Status: Construction is expected to start in July and be completed for the fall.
Impacts: No impacts are expected
Description: Inspections and repairs to the Gym roof.
Status: The project is under construction and will be completed by August 14th.
Impacts: There are lifts and construction activities on the exterior of the building, but operations will only minimally be effected.
Description: The stairs between the Shillingford and Applebee fields will be rebuilt.
Status: The project is underway and will be completed by August 20th.
Impacts: The stairs will be closed. The parallel stairs in front of the Gym will be available and access to the field will be from the far side.
Description: The stairs at the front entrances (Main & Gym) for the Âé¶¹AV School of Social Work and Social Research will be rebuilt..
Status: Construction is underway and will be completed by September 1st.
Impacts: The front stairs will be closed. Access from the parking lot side of the building will be unaffected.
